UPDATE #1 Victim Dies in Overnight Shooting in Oshawa

Police are searching for two male suspects after a 30-year-old male was shot and killed in a parking lot in Oshawa.

On Thursday, March 30, 2023, at approximately 8:25 p.m., members of Central East Division responded to a shooting in a parking lot near King Street West and Park Road, in Oshawa.  The victim, 30-year-old Michael NIGRIS, was leaving Cash Connections, his place of work when he was shot.  Life-saving measures were performed; however, the victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene.  Police do not believe this was a targeted attack.

The suspect responsible for the shooting fled in a stolen black Ford F150 Raptor that was subsequently recovered shortly after on Dundee Avenue in Oshawa. Both Air1 and K9 attended the area but were unable to locate the suspect.  The second suspect has ties to the stolen Ford F150 Raptor.  Both suspects have been linked to the Lawrence Avenue West and Keele Street area in Toronto.

The first suspect is described as: male, Black, wearing a black surgical mask, dark hooded sweatshirt with a Puma emblem on the front, black Puma brand jogging pants, and black Air Force One running shoes.

The second suspect is described as: male, Black, with short dreadlock style hair.  He was wearing glasses, a black hooded sweatshirt with ‘Champion’ written in white on the front, black pants, and black running shoes.
