ID    Code	Strategic Business Plan The 2008-2010 Strategic Business Plan is a blueprint that sets the strategic priorities for the Durham Regional Police Service and its priorities for the future. At the heart of the Business Plan is a new corporate philosophy: empowering frontline officers to solve problems by addressing the root causes of crime, fear of crime and anti-social behaviour through partnerships with existing or emerging community resources. This Problem-Oriented Policing (POP) philosophy will be integrated into all operational and administrative activities across the organization, and form the cornerstone for a sustainable service delivery. There are four strategic community safety priorities: Youth Safety Roadway Safety Violence Against/Exploitation of Persons Property Crime The Plan also identifies four strategic organizational priorities for the Service: Diversity Service-Wide Transition Information Management and Technology Emergency Preparedness. Programs and services will be evaluated to ensure continuous improvement and learning so that we have the most potential to positively impact identified community safety needs. The 2008 - 2010 Strategic Business Plan will ensure the Service transitions to a sustainable service delivery model that meets the community safety needs of our citizens and members in a complex and evolving environment.
