Youth Town Hall Meeting

Durham Regional Police Chief Mike Ewles will join youth in the community this Monday for Durham Region’s first ever Youth Town Hall at the Legends Centre in Oshawa.

Chief Ewles will join City of Oshawa Mayor John Gray, Commissioner of Social Services Dr. Hugh Drouin, and Michele Reid from the Durham District School Board Continuing Education to answer questions and concerns young people have regarding policing, social services, recreation and education.

Community agencies are setting up displays for the youth, and Dan Carter from Channel 12 CHEX TV Durham will MC the evening.

The Youth Town Hall was organized by students with the Youth in Action program, in partnership with Durham Regional Police; The Regional Municipality of Durham, Social Services Department; and the Durham District School Board Continuing Education.

Youth are welcome to attend the Town Hall meeting taking place on Monday, Jan. 19, 2009, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Legends Centre, 1661 Harmony Rd. N., Oshawa.
