DRAVIS officers in Oshawa recently arrested a Brampton man and seized cocaine, cash and his luxury vehicle under Proceeds of Crime legislation.
On Thursday July 22, 2010 at approximately 10:25 p.m. DRAVIS (Durham Region Anti-Violence Intervention Strategy) officers conducting directed patrol along Gibb Street in Oshawa observed a suspicious male exit a luxury vehicle and approach a female prostitute. Officers approached the suspect, who immediately fled on foot, discarding his cell phone. Officers apprehended the suspect following a short chase.
Officers located 40.2 grams of cocaine in a baby car seat positioned in the rear of his BMW with a street value of over $4,000. Officers arrested the suspect who was in possession of over $1,100 in cash and seized the cocaine and the $45,000 BMW during the investigation.
Sheldon Duane JACKSON, age 34, of Chestemere Crescent in Brampton is charged with: Obstruct Police Officer; Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and Fail to Comply with Recognizance x6.
