| Investigators are seeking assistance in identifying a female suspect and a male person of interest in a theft and fraud incident.
In the early morning hours of February 24, 2011, an unsuspecting victim accidentally left her wallet on a seat at a slot machine at Ajax Downs. Video surveillence captures a woman immediately going to the seat, taking the wallet and concealing it in her purse. Instead of turning the wallet into security, she leaves the location and immediately begins making fraudulent purchases on the victim’s credit cards. She attended a Shell Gas Station in Ajax, a Winners location in Scarborough as well as a Shoppers Drug Mart in Scarborough.
The female suspect is described as: white with shoulder length, blonde hair, slim build with heavy eye makeup. She appears to leave Ajax Downs with a male. He is described as white, with medium length black hair, medium build and average height.
Investigators are looking to identify both parties as soon as possible. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Pat Waters at (905) 579-1520 ext. 2534. Anonymous tips can be made to Durham Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) and tipsters may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $2,000. |
