Reaching Out in Clarington
19-Aug-2011 13:46 PSTBack | Print Article

Durham Regional Police East Division members spent the day with their community partners from the Clarington Emergency and Fire Services (CEFS) and Municipal Law Enforcement for their first Community Outreach Day.

The DRPS Mobile Command, along with a C.E.F.S. vehicle, was in Orono on Aug. 18 to speak to citizens on a variety of topics. Informational brochures were available on the Lock It or Lose It program, Senior Safety, Victim Services, Texting and Driving and various fire safety pamphlets.

“It’s always great when we can get out and interact face to face with members of the community,” said East Division Inspector Chris Ostler. “We’ve received nothing but positive feedback about increasing our presence and we look forward to continuing these types of initiatives.”
