  Male Suffers Minor Stab Wound

Jan 11, 2017 07:16 ET

One male was stabbed and he and three others were pepper-sprayed at a house in Oshawa.

On Saturday, January 7, 2017, at approximately 6:10 a.m., officers in East Division responded to the basement apartment in a house on Willowdale Avenue in Oshawa. Two males and two females were in the living room when a male suspect forced his way into the apartment and struck them with pepper spray. One male, a 20-year-old visitor at the house, was stabbed on the back. He was taken to a local hospital and later transferred to Toronto-area trauma centre where he was treated for a minor stab wound.

The other three occupants in the room suffered eye irritation from the pepper spray, but did not require medical attention. All four victims are not cooperating with the investigation, which police believe was not a random occurrence.

The suspect is described as male black, in his 20s, who fled the scene on foot.

Anyone with information that could help investigators is asked to contact D/Cst. Stuart of the East Division Criminal Investigations Bureau at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 1634.

Anonymous information can be sent to Durham Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or online at www.durhamregionalcrimestoppers.ca and tipsters may be eligible for a $2,000 cash reward.
