As students head back to school today, DRPS would like to remind drivers to slow down and pay attention to the roads. Officers will be conducting a one-week traffic safety blitz around neighbourhood schools in Durham Region.
The DRPS Traffic Services Branch, in conjunction with officers from all Divisions, will initiate a zero-tolerance traffic enforcement campaign targeting school and community zones during the week of January 9 to 13, 2017.
The goal of the annual enforcement campaign is to ensure high officer visibility and proactive enforcement in and around school zones during the first week back to school.
