12-year-old Male Facing Charges after Using Replica Firearm

A 12-year-old male is facing charges after police received information that he pointed a replica firearm in a threatening manner while causing property damage, in Oshawa.
On Saturday September 16, 2023, at approximately 5:25 p.m., members of Central East Division were called to a residence in the area of Mary Street North and Taunton Road, in Oshawa, after it was reported that a suspect had brandished a firearm. The suspect attended a residence and began kicking the front door. The homeowner opened the door and the youth pulled a black BB pellet gun from his backpack before pointing it at the homeowner. The youth then fled the area.
A 12-year-old male from Oshawa has been charged with Pointing a Firearm, Assault with a Weapon, Possess Weapon for Committing Offence, Mischief Under $5000, and Fail to Comply with Undertaking.
He was held for a bail hearing.
