Female’s Neck Slashed during Domestic Dispute in Whitby

A 34-year-old female is recovering after her neck was slashed during a domestic dispute in Whitby. 

On Friday, February 16, 2024 at approximately 3:50 p.m., members from Central West Division attended a gas station near Brock Street South and Consumers Drive in Whitby for reports of a female suffering from a slash wound to her neck.    Officers arrived on scene and located the female suffering from significant injuries.  She was transported to a Toronto-area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police received information that the suspect had fled the area with a small child in a vehicle.  With the assistance of the Ontario Provincial Police the suspect was located and taken into custody without incident.  The child was not harmed.

A 40-year-old male from Mississauga has been charged with Aggravated Assault, Assault with a Weapon, Weapons Dangerous and Fail to Comply with Probation.
