Male Suspect Wanted Following Fraud Investigation

A 33-year-old male is wanted after an investigation by the Financial Crimes Unit.

Members of the Financial Crimes Unit concluded an investigation into the fraudulent use of stolen credit card data that occurred between January 1, 2023, and February 20, 2023. The suspect used stolen credit card data to fraudulently purchase Honda Generators from various businesses across Durham Region.

Samir MAKI, age 33, of Mississauga, is wanted for numerous offences, including: Fraud Over $5000 x1, Fraud Under $5000 x5, Unauthorized Use of a Credit Card x6, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime x4, Attempt Fraud under $5000, Attempt Fraud Over $5000, Unauthorized Possession of Credit Card Data.

Anyone with new information about the suspect or this investigation is asked to contact Det. Chapman of the Financial Crimes Unit at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 5352.

Anonymous information can be sent to Durham Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) and tipsters may be eligible for a $2,000 cash reward.
