Man Charged with First Degree Murder in Durham’s Second Homicide of 2023

A 32-year-old male is facing charges after a male was located deceased with obvious signs of trauma in a residence in Oshawa.

On Friday, January 27, 2023, at approximately 9:45 a.m., members of Central East Division responded to an address on Drew Street after receiving a request to check on the wellbeing of a male. Upon arrival, police discovered the victim without vital signs and suffering from significant trauma. He was pronounced deceased. 

A male was arrested at the scene without incident and is now facing murder charges.

The coroner attended and ordered an autopsy.  The identity of the victim is known however investigators are waiting for the completion of the post-mortem examination prior to the release of his information.

Justin STEEVES, age 32 of Oshawa is charged with First Degree Murder.
