UPDATE #2 – Fire Investigation in Oshawa is now a Homicide Investigation

Homicide investigators have identified the victim located after a residential fire in Oshawa.

On Monday, March 6, 2023, at approximately 9:50 a.m., members of Central East Division responded to an address on Court Street after receiving a call to assist the Oshawa Fire Department. Oshawa Fire was on scene for a house fire and were able to extinguish the blaze. One person was located in the home deceased. 

 Amaar JAWAID, age 22 of Oshawa is the fifth victim of homicide in Durham Region in 2023.
