Reintegration Program

Reintegration is a peer-driven program available for all DRPS employees, such as returning from a leave of absence, post critical incident, or returning to patrol from a specialty unit. Reintegration offers an individualized plan to support a positive work experience through a systematic, collaborative, and goal driven process.

For members returning from a leave, reintegration supports a smooth transition and helps naturally minimize expected stressors, as well as internalized stigma and anticipated perception from colleagues.

The program allows members an opportunity to familiarize, reorient, or build confidence in profession-specific tools and equipment within a supportive environment to address job specific stressors, all at their own pace. Examples include:

Enhancing critical thinking through scenario based learning, strengthening shooting agility and accuracy, improving radio communication, and supporting members with eLearning or other computer programs.

Ongoing support after the completion of reintegration helps to ensure members can effectively navigate and utilize available resources within the organization to bridge any gaps in training, build competencies, and strive for future career advancements.
