A Male on an E-bike Seriously Injured in Oshawa Collision

A male on an e-bike has been seriously injured after a collision in Oshawa.

On Sunday August 3, 2025 at approximately 10:00 p.m., members from Central East Division responded to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Sommerville Street and Taunton Road West. An e-bike was travelling northbound on Sommerville Road when they were struck by a van travelling eastbound on Taunton Road West. The van fled the scene eastbound on Taunton Road.  

The e-bike rider was transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre with serious injuries.

The driver of the van was located by officers at a residence in Oshawa and was arrested without incident.

Tyler DONOVAN, age 30 of Oshawa is charged with numerous offences including: Fail to Remain at Accident; Fail to Report Accident; Careless Driving -Bodily Harm; Drive Under Suspension – CC Prohibition
