Mental Health Support

Durham Regional Police Service's Mental Health Support Unit (MHSU) consists of five teams, each comprised of a Police Constable partnered with a Registered Nurse from Lakeridge Health.  MHSU provides daily coverage between the hours of 7:00 a.m and 12:00 a.m.

Both the nurses and officers have extensive experience in mental health and are passionate about their field. The teams respond in a plain clothes capacity and in an unmarked police vehicle.

MHSU is a secondary response unit, providing support to front line officers. If you require emergency assistance call 911. For non-emergency inquiries or requests please call 1-888-579-1520.

The team can be contacted at MHSU@drps.ca but please be aware this email is not monitored 24 hours
