Male Arrested Following Human Trafficking Investigation in Oshawa

A 28-year-old Oshawa man is facing multiple charges after a human trafficking investigation involving a young woman was coerced into the sex trade.
On Tuesday, May 6, 2025, the Human Trafficking Unit (HTU) launched an investigation following allegations involving the exploitation of a female victim. Investigators determined that the victim initially met the accused through an online platform and entered into a consensual relationship. Over time, the relationship became exploitative, with the accused manipulating the victim and encouraging her to engage in sexual acts with other men in exchange for money, with the accused taking a portion of the proceeds.
On Wednesday, May 21, 2025, members of the Human Trafficking Unit executed a Criminal Code search warrant at a residence in the area of Richmond Street West and Prince Street in Oshawa.
The accused was located and arrested without incident.
During the search, investigators seized evidence consistent with human trafficking-related offences, along with more than five pounds of psilocybin, commonly referred to as ‘magic mushrooms’.
Police are concerned there may be additional victims and are releasing a photo of the accused. His photo can be viewed at www.drps.ca
