Male Arrested for Breaching Court-Imposed Prohibition Order

A 46-year-old male has been charged with breaching his court-imposed prohibition order after visiting a park in Whitby.

On Monday, June 28, 2025, members of DRPS’ Central West Criminal Investigations Branch (CIB) observed an unoccupied vehicle in the main parking lot of Heydenshore Park in Whitby. The vehicle was parked directly in front of the children’s playground area and was associated to a male known to police.

Through further investigation, officers confirmed that the male is bound by a court-imposed prohibition order, which prohibits him from attending parks, playgrounds, and other locations where children under the age of 16 are reasonably expected to be present. Officers were able to confirm the male attended the park and in violation of this order.

On July 20, 2025, Christopher MEZZABOTTA, age 46, of Whitby, was arrested and is charged with multiple offences, including: Breach Prohibition Order.

He was held for a bail hearing.
