Two Loaded Firearms Seized During Traffic Stop
Police seized two loaded firearms and a quantity of cash and drugs during a proactive traffic stop in Whitby.
On Saturday, July 26, 2025 at approximately 4:00 a.m., members of Central West Division were proactively patrolling the area of Thickson Road South and Consumers Drive. Officers located a suspicious vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. While speaking with the occupants, officers detected an odour of cannabis and conducted a search of the vehicle and occupants. As a result of the search, officers seized two loaded firearms, ammunition and a quantity of cash and drugs.
The five occupants were arrested and face multiple charges.
Braydon Christopher Joshua DACON, age 18, of Oshawa is charged with multiple offences, including: Possession of Loaded Prohibited Firearm x2; Possession of Prohibited Weapon Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized x2; Possess Firearm with Altered Serial Number x2; Unauthorized Possession of Firearm in a Motor Vehicle x2; and Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking- Cocaine.
Jahquille Justice WALTERS age 18, of Pickering is charged with multiple offences, including: Possession of Loaded Prohibited Firearm x2; Possession of Prohibited Weapon Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized x2; Possess Firearm with Altered Serial Number x2; Unauthorized Possession of Firearm in a Motor Vehicle x2; and Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking- Cocaine.
A 17-year-old male from Pickering is charged with: Possession of Loaded Prohibited Firearm x2; Possession of Prohibited Weapon Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized x2; Possess Firearm with Altered Serial Number x2; Unauthorized Possession of Firearm in a Motor Vehicle x2; and Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking- Cocaine.
A 17- year-old male from Oshawa is charged with: Possession of Loaded Prohibited Firearm x2; Possession of Prohibited Weapon Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized x2; Possess Firearm with Altered Serial Number x2; Unauthorized Possession of Firearm in a Motor Vehicle x2; and Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking- Cocaine and Fail to Comply with Undertaking.
A 17-year-old male from Pickering is charged with: Possession of Loaded Prohibited Firearm x2; Possession of Prohibited Weapon Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized x2; Possess Firearm with Altered Serial Number x2; Unauthorized Possession of Firearm in a Motor Vehicle x2; and Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking- Cocaine.
All five were held for bail hearings.
