UPDATE 1 - Police Searching for Assault Suspect in Oshawa

An arrest warrant has been issued for a 24-year-old male in connection to an assault from early June.

On Sunday, June 1, 2025, at approximately 10:30 p.m., members of Central West Division responded to the area of Steeplechase Street and Windfields Farm Drive for an armed person. The suspect approached two people walking in the opposite direction when he pulled a knife out and tried to stab one of them. No physical injuries were reported.

The suspect fled prior to police arrival but has since been identified.

Anthony OLIVEIRA, age 24, of Oshawa is wanted for: Assault with a Weapon; Possession of Weapons Dangerous and Fail to Comply with a Probation Order x2.

Anyone who sees this male or know his whereabouts, is urged to call police and not approach.
