UPDATE #1 – Suspect Identified in Pickering Shooting

Police have identified a 33-year-old male suspect wanted after a shooting in Pickering left two people in hospital with serious injuries.

On Saturday, August 16, 2025, at approximately 1:10 a.m., members from West Division were called to a parking lot in the area of Liverpool Road and Kingston Road for reports of shots being fired.  Officers arrived on scene and located two people suffering from gunshot wounds.  Both victims were transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre.

Mahiban PERINBANATHAN, age 33, of Bradford is wanted for multiple offences, including: Aggravated Assault x2; Possess Weapon – Dangerous to Public Peace and Discharge Firearm with Intent to Wound.

He is considered armed and dangerous. If you see this male, do not approach and call 9-1-1.
