For the last week of the Festive R.I.D.E. campaign, our team partnered with DRPS Auxiliary members and conducted sobriety checks across the Region. Through this week’s enforcement efforts, another 13 impaired drivers were removed from Durham roadways. On New Years Eve our team checked a number of drivers for sobriety and noted that the vast majority of these drivers were designated driving services or ride-share services. We thank all those who made the right choice and drove sober this holiday season.
A list of those charged can be found at www.drps.ca under R.I.D.E. Results.
Note: Under the Ontario Highway Traffic Act, anyone charged with an impaired driving criminal offence will have their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and their vehicle impounded automatically for seven days.
