DRPS’ Shop with a Cop 2025

DRPS members teamed up with the Shops at Pickering City Centre on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, for the annual Shop with a Cop, a day filled with holiday spirit and community generosity.

This year, the event brought smiles to 30 participating children, and warmed the hearts of all who took part. Chief Moreira welcomed members and students as they gathered for a complimentary pizza lunch generously provided by East Side Mario’s. Organizers Michelle Beaudry and Cst. Robin Roychoudhury thanked volunteers for their time and commitment before sending everyone off for the main event: a visit with Santa himself.

Each child was paired with a DRPS member and set out to find the perfect holiday gifts. Participants are selected for Shop with a Cop based on need, recognition of academic or athletic achievements, or for volunteer efforts that make a meaningful difference in their community.

The Shops at Pickering City Centre once again showed tremendous support by providing every child with a $200 gift card, a stocking, and a voucher for Santa photos.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all businesses and organizations who made this incredible initiative possible:
• Boyer Pickering and Boyer Ajax for supplying six SUVs and drivers to transport the children
• ProAction Cops & Kids
• Tim Hortons for hot chocolate, Timbits and cookies
• Santaville for gifting each child a personalized Christmas ornament
• East Side Mario’s for providing lunch
• The Shops at Pickering City Centre for gift cards and coordinating store discounts

Events like Shop with a Cop thrive because of the generosity of our community partners. There’s still time to support local families in need—if you’re able, please consider donating non-perishable food or unwrapped toys to the DRPS Food & Toy Drive at any division.
