An explosive device has been rendered safe after being located on a foot path in Oshawa.

On Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at approximately 4:20 p.m., members of Central East Division responded to a suspicious package call on a foot path in the area of Gibb Street and Centre Street South.  Police received reports that an unidentified package with wiring and warning labels was located on the walking path.  A perimeter was set up and all pedestrians were evacuated from the immediate area.  The DRPS Tactical Support Explosive Disposal Unit (EDU) attended and located what appeared to be military ordnance.

No persons suffered any physical injuries.  This investigation is ongoing.
