Fatal Collision in Pickering (1)

A male has died and a female remains in critical condition after a collision in Pickering.

On Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at approximately 7:10 a.m., members of West Division responded to a collision in the area of Kingston Road and Merritton Road. A Toyota sedan was travelling westbound on Kingston Road when it crossed into the oncoming lanes and collided head-on with a Subaru SUV travelling eastbound.

The 57-year-old male driver of the Toyota was transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre where he has since succumbed to his injuries. 

The 67-year-old female passenger of the Subaru was transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre with life threatening injuries where she remains in critical condition. The 68 -year-old male driver of the Subaru was transported to a local-area hospital with minor injuries.

Members of the DRPS - Collision Investigation Unit, attended the scene to conduct an investigation into the circumstances of the incident. The roadway was closed for several hours while evidence was collected.
