Female Wanted for Using Counterfeit Currency at Businesses in Durham Region
Police are requesting the public’s assistance to locate a female who used counterfeit currency at several businesses in Durham Region.
On Sunday, December 14, 2025, a female attended the Walmart located at 2320 Durham Regional Highway 2 in Bowmanville and used four counterfeit $100 bills to make a purchase. The following day the suspect attended a Walmart in Oshawa and used counterfeit $100 bills to make another purchase before attending a Walmart in Ajax to return the purchased items for legitimate Canadian currency.
The suspect is described as: female, Black, approximately 25-35 years-old, with a slim build, and shoulder length black hair. She was wearing a beige New York Yankees toque, grey puffer vest, black long sleeve shirt, black leggings, and had a beige purse.
Anyone who can identify this female or that has any cellphone, dash cam, surveillance footage, or any information about this incident is asked to contact D/Cst. Kane of the Financial Crimes Unit at 1-888-579-1520 x 5371.
