Firearm Located in Vehicle After Impaired Driving Arrest in Whitby

A firearm was located in a vehicle after the driver was arrested for impaired operation in Whitby.

On Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at approximately 12:10 a.m., a member of the Festive RIDE team initiated a traffic stop in the area of Dundas Street and Brock Street.  Officers took the driver into custody after observing signs of alcohol impairment. A subsequent search of the vehicle located a loaded handgun beside the driver's seat.

Armaan Ali OSMANI, age 18 from Clarington is charged with numerous offences including: Impaired Operation of a Conveyance – Exceed, Possession of Prohibited/Restricted Firearm – No Licence, Possess Loaded Prohibited/Restricted Firearm, Possess Prohibited Device, Occupy Motor Vehicle with Firearm, and Novice Driver B.A.C. Above Zero.

He was held for a bail hearing.
