Impaired Driver Facing Charges After Fleeing Police in Clarington

A male is facing several charges after driving impaired and fleeing from police in Clarington.

On Monday January 26, 2026, at approximately 3:30 p.m., members of East Division responded to an impaired driver call in the area of Milligan Street and Port of Newcastle Drive. A vehicle was reportedly doing donuts and driving dangerously in the area. Officers located the vehicle and attempted to initiate a traffic stop, however the vehicle failed to stop. Police engaged in a brief pursuit before discontinuing due to the dangerous driving of the suspect. A short time later, officers located the suspect vehicle after it went off the roadway. The suspect surrendered to police and was taken into custody without incident.

Timothy GRANGER, age 30 from Pickering is charged with: Impaired Operation of a Conveyance, Operation While Prohibited, Refuse Blood Demand, Dangerous Operation, Uttering Threats, Fail to Stop for Police, Drive Motor Vehicle While Suspended, Drive Motor Vehicle with Cannabis Readily Available, Driver Motor Vehicle with Open Liquor, and Fail to Comply with Undertaking x2.

 He was held for a bail hearing.
