Male Arrested after Armed Robbery in Oshawa
A male is facing charges after an armed robbery at an Oshawa business.
On Thursday, January 15, 2026, at approximately 11:50 a.m., members of Central East Division responded to a robbery call at True North Cannabis Co. located at 1076 Cedar Street. A male entered the business and stole a cash register while pointing a knife toward two employees. The suspect fled the business prior to police arrival.
Officers tracked the suspect to a nearby residence. The suspect was located inside of the residence but refused to surrender to police. After brief negotiations, members of the Tactical Support Unit took the suspect into custody.
No employees suffered any physical injuries.
Thomas STAVROU, age 31 from Oshawa is charged with: Robbery, Possess Weapon for Committing Offence, Carry Concealed Weapon, Possess Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000, Disguise with Intent, Theft Under $5000 x2, and Fail to Comply with Release Order.
