Male Arrested After Locker Thefts at Gyms Across Durham

A male is facing numerous charges after stealing items from lockers at gyms across Durham Region.

On Thursday, February 5, 2026, at approximately 12:15 p.m., members of East Division responded to a suspicious person call at the Planet Fitness located at 2377 Durham Regional Highway 2. A male who was seen going through several gym bags and lockers in a change room was apprehended by an off-duty officer. Officers arrived on scene and took the male into custody without incident. The suspect was later confirmed to match the description of a male banned from several other fitness clubs for thefts.

Ravneet GANDHI, age 18 from Brampton is charged with: Theft Under $5000 x3, Possess Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 x3, Theft of Credit Card, Use Credit Card Obtained by Offence x2, Possess Credit Card Obtained by Offence, Possess Counterfeit Currency x2, Possession of a Schedule I Substance (cocaine), and Procure Identity Document of Another.

He was held for a bail hearing.
