Male Arrested After Making Threats in Whitby

A male is facing charges after making threats toward co-workers at a business in Whitby.

On Monday, February 2, 2026, members of Central West Division were contacted after an employee made threatening comments toward other employees at the Durham Region Waste Management Facility located at 1640 Ritson Road North. Investigators located the suspect at his residence and took him into custody without incident. The suspect’s legally owned firearms were voluntarily surrendered to DRPS.

Damien JOHNSTON, age 34 from Oshawa is charged with: Uttering Threats.

He was held for a bail hearing.
