Male Arrested After Shooting Investigation in Whitby

A male youth is facing charges following a shooting investigation which also linked him to numerous stolen vehicles.

 

On Friday September 12, 2025, at approximately 9:10 p.m., members of Central West Division responded to an armed person call at a gas station in the area of Victoria Street West and Montecorte Street. A male arrived at the gas station in a sedan, exited the vehicle and fired a shot, however no one was struck.

 

The suspect fled the area in their vehicle prior to police arrival. Investigators later determined the vehicle had been stolen from Ajax several hours prior to the incident.

 

On Monday, September 15, 2025, officers located the unoccupied stolen vehicle in Pickering.  Further investigation linked the suspect to three additional stolen vehicles.

 

On Thursday, September 25, 2025, investigators took the suspect into custody without incident.

 

A 14-year-old male from Pickering is charged with: Discharge Firearm with Intent to Endanger Life, Possess Prohibited/Restricted Firearm, Occupy Motor Vehicle with Firearm, Possess Loaded Firearm, Possess Electronic Device for Motor Vehicle Theft, Possess Break-In Instrument, Drive Motor Vehicle – No Licence x3, and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 x3.

 

He was held for a bail hearing.
