Male Arrested After Theft Investigation

A male is facing several charges after committing thefts at multiple hardware stores across Durham Region.

Between October to December 2025, the suspect attended the Home Depot stores located at 1700 Victoria Street East in Whitby, and 120 Clarington Boulevard in Bowmanville, where he stole home insulation. The suspect gathered numerous home insulation packages, but only scanned and paid for a few before exiting the store. 

On Thursday, January 8, 2026, investigators from the East Division Criminal Investigation Branch took the suspect into custody without incident.

Michael Francis SPRAYSON, age 48 from Cobourg is charged with: Theft Under $5000 x9.

He was released on an Undertaking.
