Older Adults Police Academy - Applications now open

Are you aged 55+ and want to know what happens behind the scenes at DRPS?

Apply now for the Durham Regional Police Service Older Adults Police Academy, a week-long program designed to educate, engage, and empower individuals in our community.

The Durham Regional Police Service Older Adults Police Academy's goal is to create ambassadors for DRPS. Attendees are encouraged to share the knowledge they learn during the program about issues affecting seniors with others in their community.

  • Learn about issues affecting you and your community.
  • Tour Durham Regional Police Service facilities.
  • Make a difference in your community!

The very first academy goes back to 2019 and it has been a great success ever since. Through the week-long program, attendees will gain a better understanding of the DRPS, the services we provide and the decisions we make, often in an emergency or crisis situation.
