Project Hydrogen Results in 34 Arrests, more than 2.7 Million Dollars in Drugs Seized and 200,000 Dollars in Canadian Currency

Thirty-four people have been arrested, 139 criminal charges have been laid,10 firearms seized, more than 2.7 million dollars in drugs and 200,000 dollars in Canadian currency seized as a result of Project Hydrogen.

A nine-month-long drug trafficking and illegal firearms investigation began in April 2025 conducted by the Durham Region Police Service’s Gun and Gang Unit has concluded, resulting in the arrests of 34 individuals.

This investigation resulted in 61 search warrants being executed over the span of several weeks within Durham, Toronto, Lindsay, York, Peel and Winnipeg. These search warrants were completed with the assistance of the Toronto Police Service, The Royal Canadian Mounted Police, The Ontario Provincial Police, Peterborough Regional Police Service, York Regional Police Service, Peel Regional Police Service, Halton Police Service, Kawartha Lakes, Thunder Bay and the Winnipeg Police Service.

Investigators arrested 34 individuals and seized 10 firearms, a large quantity of narcotics including approximately 18kg of cocaine, 2kg of fentanyl, 6 kg of methamphetamine, 1 kg of MDMA, 3000 hydromorphone pills and more than $200,000 in Canadian currency. The seized drugs have a street value of more than 2.7 million dollars.

Of the 34 individuals arrested, 14 were already on court imposed conditions, four of them on parole.
