Robbery at Convenience Store in Ajax

A male has been arrested after an armed robbery at a convenience store in Ajax.

On Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at approximately 8:50 p.m., members of West Division responded to a robbery at a convenience store in the area of Harwood Avenue South and Station Street. A suspect entered the store and held a knife toward the employee.

The suspect then stole a quantity of items and fled the store.

Police located the suspect a short distance away and he was arrested without incident. 

No physical injuries were reported.

Leroy MARUFU, age 26 of Ajax is charged with several offences included: Robbery with Offensive Weapon; Possess Weapon Dangerous to Public Peace; Possess Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000; Fail to Comply with Probation Order x3; Fail to Comply with Release Order; Possession of Schedule I Substance (Crystal Methamphetamine) 

He was held for a bail hearing.

At the time of his arrest, the accused was on bail for a commercial robbery that occurred last week.
