Suspect Arrested After Robbery in Ajax
A male has been arrested after a commercial robbery at a gas station in Ajax.
On Thursday, March 5, 2026, at approximately 7:00 a.m., members of West Division responded to a robbery call at the Petro Canada located at 225 Salem Road South. A male entered the gas station and made threats toward an employee while going behind the counter and stealing products. The suspect fled the area prior to police arrival.
No employees suffered any physical injuries.
Officers located the suspect a short distance away and he was taken into custody. Investigators were able to link him to multiple theft incidents.
At the time of his arrest, the suspect was in violation of several probation orders for similar offences, resulting in 19 fail to comply with probation order charges.
Leroy MARUFU, age 26 of no fixed address is facing numerous charges including: Robbery; Possess Property Obtained by Crime under $5000; Obstruct Peace Officer; Theft under $5000 x5; and Fail to Comply with Probation order x19.
