Suspect Wanted After Pieces of Art Installation Stolen in Whitby

Police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating the suspect responsible for damaging and stealing pieces of an art installation in Whitby.

On Tuesday, September 16, 2025, members from Central East Division responded to a theft call at 409 Centre St S, Whitby.  Staff with the Town of Whitby reported that an art installation at this location had been damaged, and two wood carved bee’s that were affixed to the sculpture had been sawed off and stolen.

A photo of the sculpture prior to and after the damage, as well as the stolen bee’s, is attached.

Anyone with cellphone, dashcam, surveillance footage, or information about this incident is asked to contact D/Cst. Sharma of the Central West Division Criminal Investigations Branch at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 1811.
