Three Arrested after Armed Home Invasion in Beaverton

Three males are in custody after an armed home invasion in Beaverton.

On Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at approximately 4:30 a.m., members of North Division responded to an armed person call at a residence in the area of Highland Crescent and Centre Street. Residents of the home contacted police after seeing a male outside their front door with a firearm. The residents fled the home as two suspects broke through the front door. The suspects subsequently left the residence and attempted to flee in a vehicle being driven by a third suspect. Officers arrived on scene and conducted a high-risk takedown of the suspect vehicle, successfully arresting all three suspects without incident. 

A search of the vehicle located a sawed-off shotgun and an imitation firearm.

Cory BRIERE, age 37 from Washago is charged with: Possession of Prohibited Firearm, Occupy Vehicle with Firearm, Use Imitation Firearm in Commission of Offence, Possession of Weapon Dangerous, Break-and-Enter, Possession of Firearm Contrary to Order, and Possession of Schedule I Substance.

At the time of his arrest, BRIERE was on firearms prohibition conditions.

Chad DEFOREST, age 42 from Oro-Medonte is charged with: Possession of Prohibited Firearm, Occupy Vehicle with Firearm, Break-and-Enter, and Fail to Comply with Release Order.

At the time of his arrest, DEFOREST was on weapons prohibition conditions.

Aaron MUNRO, age 43 from Scugog is charged with: Possession of Prohibited Firearm, Occupy Vehicle with Firearm, and Break-and-Enter.

All were held for a bail hearing.
