Two Males Arrested After Fleeing R.I.D.E. Line in Oshawa
Two males are facing charges after fleeing a R.I.D.E. line in Oshawa.
On Monday, January 12, 2026, at approximately 11:00 p.m., members of Central East Division were conducting a R.I.D.E. initiative in the area of Stevenson Road and Gibb Street. A driver was instructed by officers to pull off the roadway after they showed signs of impairment. The driver then fled from the R.I.D.E. line at a high rate of speed.
A short distance away, the suspect vehicle struck another motorist but continued fleeing at a high rate of speed. When officers attempted to contain the vehicle, it intentionally struck two police cruisers before continuing to evade police. The vehicle was then operated in a dangerous manner for several more blocks until the driver and passenger abandoned it and fled on foot.
Officers, with the assistance of the K9 Unit and the Remote Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS), tracked the suspects on foot and located them a short distance away hiding in a residential backyard, where they were taken into custody.
