Two Youth Arrested After Armed Robbery in Whitby
Two males are facing charges after committing an armed robbery in Whitby.
On Thursday, February 19, 2026, members of Central West Division responded to a robbery call that occurred in the area of Taunton Road East and Garden Street. Two male youth made threats with a weapon toward another youth while demanding his jacket and satchel. Police identified the suspects and a short time later took them into custody without incident. The weapon was determined to be a conducted energy weapon (taser).
The victim did not suffer any physical injuries.
A 14-year-old male from Whitby is charged with: Possess Weapon Dangerous, Possession of a Prohibited Device, Robbery, Carry Concealed Weapon, and Disguise with Intent.
A 14-year-old male from Whitby is charged with: Robbery.
Both were released on an Undertaking.
