Two Youth Arrested with Replica Firearm in Whitby
Two male youth were taken into custody after reports of a firearm being pointed from a vehicle in Whitby.
On Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at approximately 1:20 p.m., members of Central West Division responded to an armed person call in the area of Baldwin Street South and Taunton Road. Police received reports that a male was pointing a firearm from a vehicle as it drove around. Officers attended the area and located the suspect vehicle in a nearby parking lot. Two male youth associated to the vehicle were identified and taken into custody. A replica firearm was located in the vehicle.
No persons suffered any physical injuries.
A 17-year-old male from Whitby was released into a youth diversion program.
