Update #1 Female Victim in Durham’s Fifth Homicide Identified

The female victim in the homicide in Clarington has been identified as Marilyn Stevens, age 62 of Newcastle. This is Durham Region’s fifth homicide of the year.

On Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at approximately 9:10 a.m., members of East Division responded to an unknown trouble call at a residence in the area of Farrow Avenue and Highway 2.  Officers located a female with obvious signs of trauma, who was pronounced deceased.

The investigation is ongoing but at this time police believe this to be an isolated incident.
