UPDATE #1 Male Arrested After Multiple Sexual Assaults in Whitby

A male is in custody following an investigation into multiple sexual assaults in Whitby. 

On Saturday, August 17, 2024, at approximately 11:15 p.m., members of Central West Division responded to the area of Wentworth Street and Thickson Road South after a victim reported being sexually assaulted. The victim was in the area of Quebec Street in Oshawa, when she was approached by the suspect who offered her a ride.

The victim was driven to an industrial area in Whitby where the suspect sexually assaulted her. 

On Sunday, January 12, 2025, at approximately 4:05 a.m., members of Central West Division responded to the area of Victoria Street East and Thickson Road South after a victim reported being sexually assaulted. The victim was in the area of Simcoe Street South and Hall Street in Oshawa, when she was approached by the suspect who offered her a ride. 

The suspect drove the victim to the area of Moore Court and William Smith Drive in Whitby, where he sexually assaulted her. 

On Tuesday, October 14, 2025, the suspect was taken into custody without incident.

Ravi TIRBANEY, age 39 from Scarborough is charged with: Sexual Assault x2.

He was held for a bail hearing.
