UPDATE #1 Male Arrested in Human Trafficking Investigation

A male who was wanted for several charges related to a human trafficking investigation has been arrested.

On Thursday, May 1, 2025, the Human Trafficking Unit (HTU) launched an investigation following allegations involving the exploitation of a female victim. Investigators determined that the victim initially met the suspects in Oshawa in February 2025. A male and female were both identified in connection with this investigation.

Investigators located the female suspect and arrested her on Thursday, July 3, 2025. An arrest warrant was issued for the male suspect.

On Thursday, March 12, 2026, members of the Offender Management Unit located and arrested the male suspect.

Yvenord HYACINTHE, age 44 from Oshawa is charged with: Assault, Assault with a Weapon, Forcible Confinement, Robbery, Extortion, and Procuring.

He was held for a bail hearing.

Male Wanted/Female Arrested in Human Trafficking Investigation

A 46-year-old Oshawa woman is facing multiple charges, and police are searching for a male suspect following a human trafficking investigation involving a young woman who was coerced into the sex trade.

On Thursday, May 1, 2025, the Human Trafficking Unit (HTU) launched an investigation following allegations involving the exploitation of a female victim. Investigators determined that the victim initially met the suspects in Oshawa in February 2025. Over the course of several weeks, the female suspect exploited the victim and coerced her to engage in sexual acts with men in exchange for money.

A male suspect was also identified in connection with this incident. Investigators issued arrest warrants for both suspects.
