UPDATE #1 - Pedestrian Succumbs to Injuries After Collision in Ajax

The 57-year-old female that was struck by a pick-up truck in Ajax has succumbed to her injuries.

On Thursday, January 22, 2026, at approximately 11:05 a.m., members of West Division responded to a collision involving a pedestrian at the intersection of Kingston Road West and Ritchie Avenue. A 57-year-old female pedestrian was struck by a pick-up truck while crossing the roadway on the west side of the intersection. The female was transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre where she has since succumbed to her injuries.

The driver remained on scene and cooperated with police. The area of the roadway was closed for several hours while evidence was collected. This collision is still under investigation.
