UPDATE #1 Search Warrant Finds Additional $130K in Stolen Property
Investigators have located an additional $130,000 in electronics and merchandise during a search warrant related to a $2 million Amazon theft and fraud investigation.
In November 2025, members of the Financial Crimes Unit (FCU) began an investigation into two employees of the Amazon Fulfillment Centre located at 789 Salem Road. Investigators were contacted by Amazon Loss Prevention after it was alleged that two employees were responsible for the theft of approximately $2 million in merchandise over a two-year period.
On Tuesday, December 23, 2025, members of the FCU executed a search warrant at a storage locker in Newmarket. As a result, an additional $130,000 in stolen electronics and merchandise was located.
Mehul Baldevbhai PATEL, age 36 from Newmarket faces additional charges of: Possession of Stolen Property Over $5000.
He was released on an Undertaking.
