UPDATE #1 Suspect in Oshawa Stabbing Arrested

Police have arrested a male responsible for a stabbing in Oshawa.

On Thursday, February 26, 2026, at approximately 10:40 p.m., members of Central East Division responded to an armed person call in the area of Celina Street and Bruce Street. The victim was stabbed after being approached by three suspects who started a verbal altercation.

On Thursday, March 26, 2026, officers located the suspect responsible for the stabbing in Oshawa. Following a brief foot pursuit, the suspect was taken into custody.

At the time of the stabbing the accused was already bound by a weapons prohibition.

William Taylor HAYES, age 24 from Oshawa is charged with: Aggravated Assault, Assault with a Weapon, Possess Weapon for Committing Offence, and Breach Probation x2. 

He was held for a bail hearing.

Suspects Wanted After Stabbing in Oshawa

Police are searching for three suspects after a stabbing in Oshawa.

On Thursday, February 26, 2026, at approximately 10:40 p.m., members of Central East Division responded to an armed person call in the area of Celina Street and Bruce Street. The victim and a friend were walking down the street when they were approached by three males. The suspects engaged in a verbal altercation with the victim before one of the suspect’s stabbed the victim. Officers arrived on scene and located the victim suffering from serious injuries. The victim was transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre where is in stable condition. The suspects fled the area prior to police arrival.
