UPDATE #1 Suspects Arrested After Replica Firearm Found During Altercation at Highschool Basketball Game

A youth and adult male are facing charges after an investigation into a robbery and assault in Oshawa.

On Monday, March 2, 2026, at approximately 7:50 p.m., members of Central East Division responded to an assault call in the area of Cedar Street and Porter Street. The victim met with two suspects outside of a residential building to sell shoes. The suspects robbed the victim and fled the area with the shoes.

A short time later, the suspects attended the Durham College Athletic Complex located at 21 Avenue of Champions in Oshawa, where a high-school basketball game was being held. The suspects targeted and assaulted a second victim with an imitation firearm, before fleeing the area.

On Monday, March 9, 2026, the first suspect surrendered himself to investigators and was taken into custody.

On Monday, March 30, 2026, the second suspect surrendered himself to investigators and was taken into custody.

This was an isolated incident as the suspect and victims are known to each other.

Khalil ADAMS, age 19 from Ajax is charged with: Robbery, Disguise with Intent x2, Use Imitation Firearm During Offence, Assault, Possess Weapon Dangerous, Carry Concealed Weapon, and Breach Probation x3.

At the time of these incidents, ADAMS was on weapons prohibition conditions.

A 17-year-old male from Pickering is charged with: Robbery, Disguise with Intent, and Fail to Comply with Release Order.

At the time of these incidents, the 17-year-old male was on conditions not to use any online marketplace applications.

Both were held for bail hearings.

Police Seek Suspects After Replica Firearm Found at Highschool Basketball Game

Police are searching for at least two suspects after a firearm was located following a fight at the Durham College Athletic Complex during a high-school basketball game in Oshawa.

On Monday, March 2, 2026, at approximately 8:20 p.m., paid-duty members working at a high-school basketball finals game responded to a fight in the lobby of the Durham College Athletic Complex. Officers attempted to intervene; however, two males fled the area. A firearm was located on the ground after the altercation. The firearm was later confirmed to be an imitation handgun.

No injuries have been reported to police.

Police believe this is an isolated incident.
