Durham Regional Police Service’s North Division patrols the more than 1,200 square kilometers of land that make up the Northernmost communities in Durham Region. The picturesque Townships of Brock, Scugog, Uxbridge and the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation create the unique north.
More than 60,000 constituents call North Durham their home. Although almost exclusively rural in nature, the communities have many growing urban areas including; Beaverton, Cannington, Port Perry, Sunderland and Uxbridge.
North Division’s territory covers more than fifty percent of the entire land mass of Durham Region and its geographical distances create one of the biggest challenges for our frontline patrols.
More than 1,100 km of trails, used by snowmobiles in the winter, are patrolled by members of North Division in co-operation with the provincial STOP officers, who are authorized as Provincial Offences Officers. During the summer months, the Durham Forest and Oak Ridges Moraine are patrolled by our ATV certified officers and our Marine Unit patrols Lake Scugog as well as Lake Simcoe.
To improve service, substations are located in Beaverton at 412 Bay Street and in Uxbridge at 307 Toronto Street South (at the rear of the plaza).
Please note: substations are not regularly staffed. However, publicly accessible lift phones located next to the entrance doors will connect users directly with our Communications Unit.
